MORAL LAWS OF A HIGHER ORDER was first given to me by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit back in early 1986. I was so excited with the message-I preached my first sermon on it on the USS Enterprise as a lay minister on April 27, 1986. The "book" at the time consisted only of several sheets of paper. It did, however, already contain many of the Moral Spiritual Laws that are in this Christian book. What it did not contain was the exhaustive research and many supporting Scriptures which are in Sections II and III. Even at this early time I realized that this information was too important to keep for just my own personal use.

Since that first sermon on the subject, I have preached on about a dozen different occasions at various churches from the "developing" book. I cannot take any credit for it. I can not stress this enough. It is all God's Holy Word, all I did was collect it together under the headings of Moral Spiritual Laws. God gets the credit for his Word, not me. If anything, I am responsible for the delay in getting the book published more than anything else. I give full credit to the Holy Spirit for the inspiration for this work. He "enabled" me to write it.

When, out of curiosity, I did a little research outside the Holy Bible to see just what was already written on Moral Laws, I was surprised to see how little there was. Especially when compared to many other subjects which have a wealth of material to read. This too, prodded me to publish this Christian book instead keeping the information for my own personal use.

As you know, we live in an age when Moral Laws have become very vague. What used to be black and white, are now shades of gray. What was right and wrong, are now moral dilemmas. We are constantly seeing our moral values as individuals, churches, organizations, businesses, in the government, and our society attacked and often, unfortunately, defeated.

If you read this Christian book with an open heart, you will discover that God's Word has the remarkable ability to "change" your moral values for the better. You will also discover many truths about God which are in his Word, and are in fact-God's Moral Spiritual Laws. You will know what to choose for "every" moral decision you will "ever" have to make.

This Christian book provides a foundation of "moral absolutes" that exist "eternally" in the universe whether you are aware of them or not. It also reveals what the answers are to some of our ageless questions that have puzzled humans for generations, such as: What is the meaning of life? What am I doing here? What comes after life? What is truth? And, what is beauty?

God's Moral Spiritual Laws have always been in the Holy Bible, they did not suddenly appear for our use. What you need to do is be aware of them, live by them, and most importantly-pray about them. It is my hope and prayer that this Christian book will bring some sense of direction and enlightenment to the application of God's Moral Spiritual Laws which are found in our Moral Compass-The Holy Bible.

The cover of the book has undergone many changes and improvements, just like the contents of the book have. The title is "MORAL LAWS", because they are "Moral" in nature, principles in regard to conduct, our behavior. They are also in fact "laws", no other term better describes them. They are to be obeyed, just like any other law is to be obeyed. They are not guidelines, suggestions, or ideas, but actual "laws." The rest of the title, "Of a Higher Order" because they are a higher order than the laws of humans. The Lord Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." (Matthew 5:43-44) This is God's Moral Spiritual Law of Love. It far exceeds anything humans would have for a law regarding relationships, which is why they are MORAL LAWS of a Higher Order. All the laws in similar fashion far exceed any code of conduct or other moral standard of human contrivance.

The Tablets of Stone theme for the cover and the interior has always been there, it was even in the very first copyrighted loose-leaf binder edition (2003). The Tablets of Stone which is employed as a theme on the cover and throughout the book speaks of the immutability of God's Moral Spiritual Laws, they are eternal, perfect, and flawless, just like God's Holy Word is. Since the laws themselves are actually part of God's Holy Word itself, they have the same qualities as God's Word. "Your word, O LORD is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens." (Psalms 119:89) They are Written in stone.

The glowing cross is symbolic of how it is only through the LORD Jesus Christ that we can obey God's law and find favor with God. "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:1-4)

Another interesting perspective about the cover is that the word "LAWS" in the title appears to be on the Tablets of Stone, and the word "MORAL" appears to be on the arms of the cross. This symbolizes how the Laws of God are unachievable without the help of the Christ of the cross. You might also have noticed that the title MORAL LAWS of a Higher Order is silhouetted by the glow from the Tablets of Stone and the cross. This shows that the Moral Spiritual Laws of the Universe are in place, but it is God's Holy Word that reveals to us what the laws are, and the cross of Christ our Lord that makes it possible to live by them through his shed blood.
